Kanika Singh

Kanika Singh is a historian with research interests in museums, heritage, public history and pedagogy. Her publications include a monograph, The Story of a Sikh Museum: Heritage, Politics, Popular Culture (Cambridge University Press, 2025) and an edited volume, Inclusive Pedagogies: Teaching & Learning Practices in Higher Education in India (Primus, 2024).

Kanika Singh founded Delhi Heritage Walks in 2009, a group involved in leading heritage walks, designing walking trails, and training volunteers and professionals in the field of cultural heritage.

At Ashoka, she teaches courses on museums in South Asia, Delhi’s heritage, visual culture and research writing. She has previously taught at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Ambedkar University, Delhi, CEPT University, Ahmedabad, IGNOU and the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Noida.
