Mahavir Jhawar

Mahavir Jhawar received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, under the supervision of Prof. Rana Barua. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary, Canada, working with Prof. Reihaneh Safavi-Naini.

He is broadly interested in cryptography, with a particular emphasis on public-key cryptography and network security. His recent research focuses on post-quantum cryptography – both on the design and analysis of schemes as well as on the challenges of migrating network security protocols to post-quantum settings. He is also interested in verifiability aspects of electronic voting, privacy-enhancing technologies, and research at the intersection of cryptocurrencies and blockchain systems.

He has experience working on several externally funded projects in collaboration with various security labs, including SAG, JCB, CAIR labs of DRDO, and NTRO
