Till Hoeppner

Visiting Professor of Philosophy, Ashoka University

Ph.D. University of Potsdam

Historically, the focus of Till’s research is Kant’s critical philosophy, though his historical interests extend throughout the early modern period (esp. Descartes, Leibniz, Locke, Hume) and also include the origins of analytic philosophy (esp. Frege, Moore, Russell, early Wittgenstein).

Philosophically, Till’s interests lie at the intersection of metaphysics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and epistemology, as his research primarily concerns propositional, conceptual, and perceptual representational contents and their various forms of objectivity. Till generally works on topics in Analytic Kantianism (esp. influenced by Sellars, Strawson, and Stroud), a tradition he sees himself as continuing.

Currently, Till is Visiting Professor at Ashoka University. Before that, he was Short-Term Lecturer at FU Berlin, Visiting Professor at Potsdam University, Visiting Scholar at the Universities of Leipzig and Chicago, and Postdoc and Lecturer at Potsdam University.
