Ashoka University’s Young Scholars Programme

 Eligibility Criteria  Details
 Who Can Apply  High school students from India and worldwide are eligible.
 Classes  Applicants must be entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 during the programme (May or June 2026).
 Students Who Have  Completed Class 12  Students who have taken class 12 board exams and have not yet entered an undergraduate programme are also eligible.
 Language Proficiency  Proficiency in written and spoken English is required, as English is the medium of instruction.
 Application Requirements Applicants must fill out an online form which will require

– scanned copies of 2 previous academic years’ marksheets. Upload the final/annual marksheets/assessment reports,

– brief description and evidence about co-curricular activities and sports, and

– 250 word essay on one of the prompts
 Applicant Profile  Applicants should demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a readiness to explore diverse ideas.

Enrollment Process

The application process for Ashoka’s Young Scholars Programme (YSP) is designed to guide applicants through a clear, step-by-step journey. Beginning with an eligibility review, applicants move seamlessly through preparing application materials, selecting their preferred programme edition, and completing a simple online form. Applications are processed on a rolling basis, allowing early applicants to secure limited seats. Once accepted, students complete programme fee payments within a set timeframe to confirm their spot.

Application Preparation and Submission

  • Review Eligibility
    Before beginning the application, review the eligibility criteria to ensure you qualify for YSP 2026.
  • Gather Required Documents
    • Keep clear, scanned copies of your final mark sheets for the last two academic years.
    • If your current board results (Grade 10 or 12) are pending, include your previous final marksheets and the current mid-term results.
    • Also, keep scanned certificates of your co-curricular achievements ready.
    • Having these documents prepared will make filling the online form easier.
  • Prepare for Payment
    Ensure you have the necessary details at hand for the online application fee payment. The non-refundable application fee is INR 1,000/-.

  • Application Start Date
    Applications for YSP 2026 are NOW OPEN! Ensure you have access to a reliable internet connection to complete the form.
  • Selecting the Programme and Edition
    Begin by selecting the ‘Young Scholars Programme’ option from the drop-down menu.
    Next, choose either the May (Edition 1) or June (Edition 2) of the programme under “I wish to attend Young Scholars Programme for…” to specify when you would like to attend.
  • Completing the Application Form
    Fill in your personal and academic details accurately. Double-check your entries to avoid any errors that could delay processing.
  • Submitting the Application Fee
    Click on the ‘application fee’ tab, which will direct you to the payment window.
    Complete the payment of INR 1,000 to finalise your application. This fee is non-refundable.

  • Review All Details
    Before submitting, carefully review the entire form to ensure that all information is accurate and complete.
  • Final Submission
    Once everything has been checked, click ‘submit’ to finalise your application.

After submission, look out for a confirmation receipt in your inbox, verifying successful application submission.

  • Typically, you should receive this email within 24-48 hours. Occasionally, processing time may vary, especially if there are payment delays.

Please note: All the applicants are required to communicate actively on the registered email ID. Ashoka University does not send physical copies to applicants at any application stage. All the communication takes place on the student’s email ID that has been used for registration.

Application Review and Enrollment Decision

  • Rolling Basis Review
    Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, meaning the sooner you apply, the sooner you may receive an outcome. Early submission is recommended to increase your chances, as the cohort size is limited.
  • Decision Timeline
    Enrollment decisions are generally communicated within two weeks of submission. For example, if your confirmation email is dated 9 January 2026, you can expect the decision by 23 January 2026.
  • Enrollment Decision Email
    Successful applicants will receive an email with a link to pay the programme fees. If you do not receive a decision within the expected timeframe, write to us at youngscholars@ashoka.edu.in for any clarifications.

  • Programme Fee Structure
    5-day Programmes : INR 49,500 + GST
    10-day Programmes : INR 85,000 + GST
  • Need-based Scholarship Deadline
    The deadline for applying for Need-based Scholarships is March 8, 2026. Failing to apply on time will make you ineligible for the scholarship.
  • Payment Deadline
    Once you receive the admission confirmation email, you have five days to pay the programme fees.
    For instance, if you receive the email on 23 January 2026, the fee must be paid by midnight on 28 January 2026. Missing this deadline may result in forfeiting your seat.

Final Confirmation and Programme Guide

  • Post-Payment Confirmation
    Upon receiving your programme fee payment, Ashoka University will send you a final confirmation email, solidifying your spot in the YSP 2026 cohort. This will also include an extended form, where you will be required to enter your personal details like arrival and departure on campus, dietary preferences etc.
  • Programme Guide
    You will also receive a comprehensive guide, which includes important details about the YSP schedule, housing, activities, and general programme logistics.
    This guide is designed to help you prepare thoroughly for the experience ahead.
