Ashoka fellowships in ancient and medieval Indian history/archaeology funded by Anupa Sahney
With the generous funding from Anupa Sahney the Centre for Interdisciplinary Archaeological Research (CIAR) of Ashoka University invites qualified scholars to apply for fellowships in ancient and medieval Indian history/archaeology. These are aimed at encouraging field research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and documentation of archaeological remains, museum collections, manuscripts, vernacular writings, and archives.
Ashoka is India’s first Liberal Arts and Sciences Research University. Located near Delhi, it integrates the humanities and social sciences with the natural and mathematical sciences. It is recognised as one of India’s best universities, with a world-class faculty across all its disciplines.
Scholars across India with a record of excellence in research in this field are encouraged to apply. Selected fellows will receive a grant of Rs 3.0 lakhs for one academic year. Initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable upon satisfactory performance. Fellows are expected to publish an article on the work they undertake during the fellowship and interact with the Ashoka community.
