Using diverse methodologies, students will participate in the creation of a performance based on a sub-continental dramatic or poetic work. The focus will be on crafting a cohesive whole using the various facets of performance art. Practical texts on performance will also provide a grid for ongoing analyses of the performative process. The semester will be punctuated by semi-public and public delineations of the work in progress. Student participation will be both from the inside – moving, expressing, articulating- and from the outside- watching and critically engaging from the dispassionate place of the observer.
