1. How can individuals or student groups work with the Livegreen@Ashoka Programme?
Students or student groups are welcome to discuss their ideas to make Ashoka a sustainable campus with the Livegreen Programme team. The team will evaluate the feasibility of the idea and help you shape it. The team will then connect you with student groups working in the same domain or help you coordinate with the administration to obtain permissions or information to start working on your idea. The team will give you constant support and feedback during the building of a prototype or model for your idea and its execution.
2. Does the Livegreen@Ashoka Programme fund projects?
No at the moment. Currently, the programme offers mentorship and a support system for building your idea. Funding opportunities may next in the near future.
3. What support does the Livegreen@Ashoka Programme provide to on-going student projects?
Apart from discussing ideas for future projects, the Livegreen Programme extends its support systems and mentorship for any on-going student projects focused on improving sustainability at Ashoka in the same format as it helps the development of new ideas. It facilitates collaboration between students and the concerned department at Ashoka.See FAQ 1.
4. You mention that the Livegreen@Ashoka Programme works on sustainability. But sustainability has multiple facets, as enshrined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Since the programme is named “Livegreen”, does it only work with ideas pertaining to the environment and climate change at Ashoka?
No. The Livegreen Programme welcomes projects across the SDGs. The name is only symbolic of sustainability. After all, what’s in a name?
5. Which department does the Livegreen@Ashoka Programme come under?
LiveGreen@Ashoka is an university-wide sustainability platform and is not under any department. It originated under the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability.
