Call for Faculty Applications

The Department of Computer Science at Ashoka University invites applications for faculty positions at all levels in traditional and interdisciplinary fields of Computer Science (CS). Academicians, practitioners and researchers specializing in Algorithms and Theoretical Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Science, Cryptography, Security and Privacy, Computer Architecture, Programming Languages, Distributed and Cloud Systems are especially encouraged to apply. The department also invites established senior researchers to get engaged as regular, non-resident or visiting faculty.

Ashoka University is a pioneer in its focus on providing liberal education at par with the best in the world. Along with the traditional majors in Humanities and Social Sciences, the Ashoka offering also includes Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences (Physics and Biology), and emphasizes interdisciplinarity between these disciplines. In addition to disciplinary research in core areas, CS at Ashoka offers unique opportunities to apply computational thinking to the sciences and the social sciences, and even enrich core CS by integrating new ideas from other disciplines.

The unique positioning of CS at Ashoka, backed up with its accomplished faculty and growing specialized programmes, offers a diverse set of opportunities in interdisciplinary areas like health data and epidemiology, molecular and systems biology; drug design, quantum computing and cryptography; digitization and society; privacy, ethics and law; economic modeling; social networks and social media; elections technology, campaigning and political data; data science, and advanced computing for common good.

Ashoka University is making a significant commitment to CS and is soon starting a new School of Advanced Computing. In addition to the Department of Computer Science, the School will have the three existing centers Centre for Digitalisation, AI and Society, Centre for Data, Learning and Decision Sciences (CDLDS), and Centre for Data Science along with the Koita Centre for Digital Health at Ashoka.

Eligibility

Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. (postdoctoral experience is desirable, but not necessary) at the time of applying and must possess excellent academic and publishing credentials as well as exceptional teaching abilities.
