Dr. Dangs Lab

Dr. Dangs Lab is a quality-based pathology laboratory offering a wide range of testing services in Delhi NCR Dr. Dangs Lab was started in 1983 with Dr. Manju Dang, MD and Prof (Dr.) Navin Dang, MD as the 2 partners. It has received numerous national and international awards including Dr. B.C Roy national award, FICCI Healthcare Excellence award etc. 

It was the first lab in the country to receive ISO-9002 certification and has been accredited by NABL since 2001 in Medical Laboratories. It offers a wide menu of tests in Biochemistry, Haematology including Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Immunology, Histopathology and Cytology.

Public Health Foundation of India

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.

Structured as an independent foundation, PHFI adopts a broad, integrative approach to public health, tailoring its endeavours to Indian conditions and bearing relevance to countries facing similar challenges and concerns. The PHFI focuses on broad dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost sight of in policy planning as well as in popular understanding. The Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, launched PHFI on March 28, 2006, in New Delhi. PHFI recognizes the fact that meeting the shortfall of health professionals is imperative to a sustained and holistic response to the public health concerns in the country which in turn requires health care to be addressed not only from the scientific perspective of what works, but also from the social perspective of, who needs it the most.

Centre for Chronic Disease Control

Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) is a New Delhi-based not-for-profit organization, established in December 2000. The mission of CCDC is primarily intended to address the growing challenge of chronic diseases, in varied settings of the developing countries through: 

  • Knowledge generation, which can inform policies and empower programmes for the prevention and control of chronic diseases 
  • Knowledge translation intended to operationalize research results by bridging the critical gaps between relevant research and effective implementation, through analytic work, capacity building, advocacy and development of educational resources for enhancing the empowerment of people and professionals. 

CCDC has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. It also holds registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976.

Johns Hopkins School of Medicine

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) is the medical school of Johns Hopkins University, a private research university in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1893, the School of Medicine shares a campus with Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, established in 1889. Johns Hopkins School of Medicine consistently ranks among the top medical schools in the United States in terms of research grants awarded by the National Institutes of Health, and other factors.

The School of Medicine shares a campus with the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, which serve as the school’s main teaching hospitals along with several other regional medical centres, including Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center on Eastern Avenue in East Baltimore, Howard County General Hospital near Ellicott City, Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. According to the Flexner Report, Hopkins has served as the model for American medical education. The University  of Bern is a public research university in the Swiss capital of Bern. It was founded in 1834. It is regulated and financed by the Canton of Bern. It is a comprehensive university offering a broad choice of courses and programs in eight faculties and some 150 institutes.

Domain: Antibiotic resistance is a growing challenge that affects healthcare systems worldwide, making it harder to treat infections effectively. To address this issue, Ashoka University is working alongside ANRESIS, the Swiss Centre for Antibiotic Resistance. ANRESIS is a leading organization in Switzerland that monitors antibiotic resistance and how antibiotics are used across the country. This collaboration combines Ashoka’s expertise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research with ANRESIS’s robust surveillance system to better understand and tackle this pressing global health problem.

Prashanti Cancer Care Mission (PCCM)

Prashanti Cancer Care Mission is a well-known NGO in the culturally rooted city of  Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India. PCCM is a registered, public charitable trust founded by C.B. Koppiker, an internationally renowned Breast Onco-Surgeon.

Domain: Ashoka University is collaborating with PCCM to address triple-negative breast cancer, a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer. Unlike other types, this cancer does not have receptors for estrogen, progesterone, or HER2, making it harder to treat with common hormonal or targeted therapies.

Through this partnership, Ashoka and PCCM aim to deepen understanding of this challenging disease and explore innovative approaches to improve outcomes for patients. By combining expertise and resources, this collaboration represents a step forward in the fight against one of the most difficult-to-treat types of cancer.

National Brain Research Centre

National Brain Research Centre is a premier institute in India dedicated to Neuroscience Research and Education. Scientists and students at NBRC come from diverse academic backgrounds, including biological, computational, mathematical, physical, engineering and medical sciences, and use multidisciplinary approaches to unravel function under healthy and pathological conditions. Located in the foothills of the Aravali range in Manesar, Haryana, NBRC is an autonomous institute funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and is also a Deemed-to-be University. NBRC has been recognised as an Institution of Excellence by Govt. of India.

AIIMS Delhi

All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.

The Institute has comprehensive facilities for teaching, research and patient-care. As provided in the Act, AIIMS conducts teaching programs in medical and para-medical courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and awards its own degrees. Teaching and research are conducted in 42 disciplines. In the field of medical research AIIMS is the lead, having more than 600 research publications by its faculty and researchers in a year. AIIMS also runs a College of Nursing and trains students for B.Sc.(Hons.) Nursing post-certificate) degrees.

Twenty-five clinical departments including four super specialty centers manage practically all types of disease conditions with support from pre- and Para-clinical departments. However, burn cases, dog-bite cases and patients suffering from infectious diseases are not entertained in the AIIMS Hospital. AIIMS also manages a 60-bedded hospital in the Comprehensive Rural Health Centre at Ballabgarh in Haryana and provides health cover to about 2.5 lakh population through the Centre for Community Medicine.

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is a public medical university in Chandigarh, India. It is an ‘Institute of National Importance’. It has educational, medical research, and training facilities for its students including all specialties, super specialties and subspecialties. It is the leading tertiary care hospital of the northern India region and caters to patients from all over Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Apart from the clinical services, PGI also provides training in almost all disciplines of medicine including post graduate and postdoctoral degrees, diplomas, Doctor of Philosophy and fellowships. There are more than 50 such training courses in the institute. The 100-seat MBBS college is expected to start by 2025 at PGI’s satellite center in Sarangpur.

IIT, Delhi

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the 23 IITs created to be Centers of Excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India.

Established as College of Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared as an Institution of National Importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963” and was renamed as “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”. It was then accorded the status of a Deemed University with powers to decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations, and to award its own degrees.

Since its inception, over 48000 have graduated from IIT Delhi in various disciplines including Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management and Humanities & Social Sciences. Of these, nearly 5070 received Ph.D. degrees. The number of students who graduated with a B.Tech. degree is over 15738. The rest obtained Master’s Degrees in Engineering, Sciences and Business Administration. These alumni today work as scientists, technologists, business managers and entrepreneurs. There are several alumni who have moved away from their original disciplines and have taken to administrative services, active politics or are with NGOs. RESEARCH SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF DIABETES IN INDIA (RSSDI)

RSSDI was founded in 1972 by Prof. M.M.S. Ahuja who conceived the idea for establishing the society for ensuring academic activity and research and holding scientific meetings and providing training facilities for research. The aim of RSSDI is to conduct and facilitate diabetes research in

India, which has a direct bearing on diabetes clinical practice and the prevention and management of the condition.
