Research Internships Abroad
Ashoka students are encouraged to apply for the for incredible opportunities to pursue research internship opportunities abroad to get practical experience in their fields of interest. Through these hands-on projects, students get an opportunity to implement their learnings in a work setting. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, has added the requirement of internship credits for undergraduate students. As per the new 4-year programme model, all students will need to complete 16 internship credits in 4 years, and 8 credits if they exit at the end of 3 years. As students apply for such opportunities abroad in the form of summer research internships and/or unique programmes, such participation will be counted as internship credits.
GESP office is exposing its students to summer research opportunities abroad through information sessions as well as opening opportunities in partner universities eg. University of California Santa Cruz, Lehigh University, Tel Aviv University, Koç University etc. Ashoka students are also guided to apply for various international organizations for research internship for example, World Bank, ADB, CERN etc and as well as competitive research scholarships.
